Andrea Gilliam, J.D., ACC
Hi, I'm Andrea.
I’m a professional coach and trainer with a legal background and a passion for helping individuals find purpose and peace at work.
As a former employment attorney, I understand workplace dynamics. I help individuals navigate their careers with grace and confidence by reducing their stress and increasing their sense of purpose. And as a registered yoga teacher and meditation guide, I help clients reconnect mind, body, and spirit.
With a successful career that’s spanned government, nonprofit, and private sectors, I’ve learned that many problems are universal and that the best solutions always come out of thoughtful community collaboration. In these roles, I’ve learned to prioritize understanding through listening, introspection, and empowering individuals to have their voices’ heard.
Whether I was co-founding a startup to address sexual harassment, litigating federal employment cases for the U.S. Department of Labor and in private practice, or chairing a nonprofit board, I’ve learned that when you put individuals first, the best solutions always follow.
The daughter of a lawyer and a social worker, I was born and raised in the Midwest. I moved to California for college and stayed through law school, getting my JD from the University of California, Berkeley. I moved to Washington, DC to create change in the world and now spend my time on both coasts.
I served on the advisory board of the Conspire Women’s Peer Coaching Co-Op, as a mediator at OC Human Relations and the EEOC, a guest speaker at state bar associations and other conferences, and have completed certification programs in Crucial Conversations and ROI Methodology. I'm an ICF-certified coach (ACC) and my coaching training is through the Academy for Coaching Excellence and New Ventures West.
