Andrea Gilliam, J.D., ACC

Andrea Lindemann Gilliam is a former practicing attorney, credentialed mediator, and ICF-certified coach. She spent over a decade as a labor and employment attorney at Paul Hastings and the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as in policy roles in the nonprofit sector, and has practiced as a mediator through the EEOC and the Dispute Resolution Programs Act Collaborative. She holds a J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law.

In her current practice, she works with leaders and organizations on two challenges that turn out to be the same one: how to lead well, and what to do when conflict makes that harder. She designs and leads group programs, coaches individual leaders, and facilitates conflict interventions for organizations across corporate, nonprofit, and higher education settings. Her approach draws on mediation, facilitation, and coaching, because she believes one conversation rarely resolves what took years to build.

She has written about conflict and leadership for legal and professional audiences in the NALP Bulletin+, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Journal, and the American Bar Association Journal. Representative clients include Panasonic North America, the University of California Irvine, and Mary's Center.
